Which Schools Could Join the Big Ten Conference Next?

USC and UCLA are set to make a historic move to the Big Ten beginning in 2024. That isn’t the only big piece of news regarding conference realignment, either. The Big 12 looks completely different this year with UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston joining, while Texas and Oklahoma are heading to the SEC in 2024. Major conferences are starting to look completely different, and it has us thinking: which teams will be next to follow USC and UCLA to their new conference? Could it be Oregon and Washington?

Will the Big Ten Conference Add Two More Pac-12 Teams?

The Pac-12 appears to be one of the Power Five conferences that is being left behind. The Big Ten and SEC are the conferences experiencing major additions, the Big 12 is adding lower-level schools, and the ACC hasn’t seen any changes quite yet. We could be moving into an era of two super conferences with the Big Ten and the SEC.

Two schools in the Pac-12 are most often discussed to join USC and UCLA, and they make the most sense. Those two schools are Oregon and Washington.

Oregon and Washington Should Make the Move to the Big Ten

Much like USC and UCLA, Oregon and Washington are schools with rich athletic programs that would fit nicely in the Big Ten and add exciting matchups to the table. In terms of football, Washington and Oregon are the only teams from the Pac-12 to have made the college football playoff.

The rumors of these two teams joining the Big Ten have been set aside recently as it is not expected to happen right away. However, don’t be surprised at all if the next two schools to join USC and UCLA are Oregon and Washington.
