The 2023 college football season is right around the corner, and it’s a crucial one for USC. Head coach Lincoln Riley will be in his second year, and while last year was very promising after an abysmal 2021 season, not much was accomplished. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like anything will come easy in 2023, well, unless you ask PFF.

2023 USC Football Schedule Ranked One of the Easiest in 2023 by PFF

PFF recently released rankings for the easiest schedules, and the 2023 USC football schedule came in at #7. According to PFF, the easiest schedules in power five college football this season belong to Louisville, Washington State, Iowa, Nebraska, TCU, Miami Florida, USC, Oregon, Maryland, and Wisconsin. While PFF may believe that USC has it easy this season, the actual schedule appears to beg to differ.

The Trojans have a very challenging non-conference game as the team will be heading to South Bend in October for a night game against Notre Dame. In conference, USC has to play Washington, Oregon, and Utah, all of which are expected to be among the best teams in the country.

To put things in perspective, PFF also has Maryland on that list, and the Terps have to play Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan. All of those teams finished in the top 10 last season and will be top 10 to begin the 2023 season. Maryland could play only community colleges for the rest of that schedule and it would still be among the more difficult schedules in the country.

To conclude, don’t go into this season thinking that USC has a cakewalk schedule, or you could end up disappointed. As previously noted, there are some pretty daunting tests on that schedule. However, much like last season, USC has more than enough talent to win every game on that schedule and make the College Football Playoff. The Trojans are one of the most talented teams in the country, and they will have many chances to prove that this upcoming season.
