ESPN lists USC basketball HC Andy Enfield as candidate to leave
Could Andy Enfield take a different job after this season?
It’s not a secret that this season has been a big disappointment for USC basketball. The Trojans started things off ranked in the top 25, and they are now a bottom team in the Pac-12. It has been a very disappointing season after the high expectations, and there is no NCAA Tournament in the future for USC.
Andy Enfield has done a solid job as the head coach of the USC basketball team, but this team has not been good this season. It’s extremely unlikely that he gets fired, but ESPN thinks that Enfield could explore other openings in the offseason.
“After entering the season as a preseason top 25 team, with a top-notch recruiting class and several returning players, Andy Enfield and the Trojans have been a massive disappointment,” Jeff Borzello wrote. “They’re next-to-last in the Pac-12 and sit at 10-16 overall. Given that he’s gone to three straight NCAA tournaments and five overall since arriving at USC in 2013 — along with a contract that runs through 2027 — Enfield should be fine. But, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him look around or enter next season under pressure.”
This year’s USC team is very young, and they should get a fair amount of talent back next year. Maybe with some more experience, the 2025 version of this team can be really good under Andy Enfield’s leadership.
